about
Using a variety of print, electronic, media and technology, graphic designers create visual art used mostly for communications, marketing and advertising. The goal is to execute a design that meets clients’ needs, while considering cultural, physical, and social factors for a given project. Graphic designers use several types of computer software to aid in developing the overall layout and production of print and electronic media. They also produce promotional items, design brochures for products and services, design logos for products, businesses and organizations, and develop signage for businesses. Many graphic designers develop material for web pages, computer interfaces, and multimedia projects.
Graphic designers produce initial samples, or proofs, to illustrate the vision for the design. After consulting with the client, designers can create more concrete designs. Using the most up-to-date software releases and computer equipment enables a designer to produce concepts and designs quickly and efficiently.
